This year, the team is running a Yamaha R6 engine in an effort to reduce weight. The goal of broadening the torque curve is accomplished through a pulse-tuned exhaust using a 4-2-1 header design, also known as a tri-y collector. A small, simple intake plenum stimulates very quick throttle response, allowing the driver a better feel for the car. Nearly every engine system has lost weight this year, including the oiling system. A custom wet sump pan was designed that allowed the engine to sit lower in the chassis.
