The ergonomics team's main goal is to keep the driver comfortable while they are in the race. Specifically the ergo team is in charge of the design of the steering wheel, seat, firewall and pedals.
This year weight reduction was key, so the steering wheel, seat, and firewall were all made out of carbon fiber. This saves weight while also remaining rigid enough to use in a race.
